Upcycle the grounds from your morning cup of coffee into soap and celebrate the beauty of sustainability.
Upcycle the grounds from your morning cup of coffee into soap and celebrate the beauty of sustainability.
Regular soap contains ingredients such as glycerin, palm oil, and petroleum by-products. We’re making coffee soap to upcycle used coffee grounds and to introduce an easy way to start incorporating sustainable, natural practices and products into your beauty routine. Used coffee grounds are a valuable ingredient to make your own soap.
Using an artisanal, natural soap made with coffee grounds helps:
Naturally exfoliate skin
Brighten the skin due to coffee’s natural caffeine content
Upcycle coffee grounds, an organic matter that would otherwise end up in a landfill producing greenhouse gases
Bettr’s Homemade Coffee Soap Workshop will teach you to:
Use the appropriate coffee grinds for exfoliation
Safely melt and combine the ingredients necessary in soap-making
Shape and personalize your soap bars – perfect as a gift!
You will also learn about coffee’s role in sustainability and what you can do about it
The entire workshop is 90 minutes, including cooling time for the soap to set before slicing and shaping the soap bars. While the soap is cooling, there will be activities and sharing about sustainability, coffee, and climate change.
