About the QCE Course
Q Cupping Essentials (QCE) is a new, 3-day course in the Q Program. This course teaches students the cupping skills they need to properly evaluate specialty coffee quality. QCE is specifically designed to be taken by a broad range of students who may be interested in evaluating coffee quality and may be completed as either a stand alone Q Cupping Essentials Certification, or as preparation to take the Q Arabica Combo Training and Exam Course, along the pathway to becoming a Q Grader.
Who Should Attend
Q Cupping Essentials (QCE) is a stand-alone course with newly developed materials, designed for a broad range of students from enthusiasts to industry professionals. This foundational cupping course offers a very thorough understanding of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) cupping form and cupping protocols, as well as introducing the student to auxiliary sensory exercises that enhance their understanding of coffee evaluation, as well as being an excellent introduction to skills necessary to pass the full Q Arabica Combo Course.
Over three days, students will be exposed to cupping activities, and progressively and comprehensively trained on the SCA cupping form, along with important sensory references for assessing quality coffee. Those who take the course and successfully pass the tests achieve an internationally recognized Q Cupping Essentials certification.
