For: Aspiring baristas, roasters and coffee professionals looking to grow their knowledge and skill in brewing
SCA Brewing Skills Intermediate takes a very hands-on approach, where you will learn to analyse your grind profile, match your grind to your brewing method and to scientifically measure coffee strength and chart a coffee’s extraction - with the motive of teaching the learner how to brew the best cup of coffee possible.
By understanding the essential elements of coffee brewing, you will learn how how each variable influences the final cup. Variables include water temperature, grind size, contact time and turbulence so that you can learn how to adapt the strength and extraction of a brew to achieve the required flavour. We will also look at water chemistry and consider which filter methods are the most suited to different water types.
