SCA Sensory Skills Intermediate

Hone your sensory skills in three key areas:

  • Taste, perception and interpretation
  • Running a cupping session and tasting the diversity of coffee
  • How to set up sensory skills in your business
19 & 20 Dec: Brew Intermediate

14 & 15 Feb:
SCA Brewing Skills Intermediate

Very much a hands-on workshop where you will learn to analyse your grind profile, match your grind to your brewing method and to scientifically measure coffee strength and chart a coffee’s extraction.

14 & 15 Dec: Barista Intermediate

22 & 23 Feb:
SCA Barista Skills Intermediate

Gain a deeper understanding of coffee and build on your practical Foundation-level skills.

Milk techniques, including latte art, are introduced as well as health and safety, customer service and basic business.

21 & 22 Dec: Roast Intermediate

19, 20 & 21 Feb:
SCA Roasting Skills Intermediate

Builds on the basics covered in Foundation and covers roast defects, the physical changes that beans undergo during the roasting process, as well as workspace management and lean production.

Package Fee: S$3,060 including GST (save $340)


The package fee includes all written and practical tests. Any subsequent retests will be charged per module as follows:

  • Written retest - S$40
  • Practical retest - S$80

Learners must complete their tests 2 months from the date of their class, after which a S$30 administration fee will be applied to reschedule the test date.

Learners may also opt out of doing the tests, in which case there will be no SCA certification awarded. However, these learners will receive a certificate of completion from Bettr Barista.

We require a minimum number of 2 learners to run the Foundation Series. If the number of sign-ups does not meet this requirement, learners will be notified and have their class rescheduled to the next available date. Please note: Registration will close 5 days prior to commencement of class.


SkillsFuture credit (for Singaporeans) can be applied towards some modules in this series.
