SCA Barista Skills - Foundation (1 Day, 9am - 6pm)
For: Coffee lovers or aspiring baristas looking to understand the basics of specialty coffee. No prior experience needed.
This Barista Skills course is SkillsFuture Credit Eligible (for Singaporeans).
This course, which is internationally certified by the Specialty Coffee Association, is designed to introduce core barista skills to people with no previous barista experience. Students will learn to do a simple calibration of their grinders and make an espresso and cappuccino to core standards.

9am - 12:30pm: Espresso Basics
1:30pm - 3.30pm: Milk Basics
3.30pm - 6pm: Hands-on Practice, Cleaning & Maintenance
This Foundation course includes an additional complimentary pre-class workshop (in English only) that will be conducted on a separate day. The workshop runs from 10 am - 12.30 pm / 2 pm - 4.30 pm and covers:
What is Specialty Coffee - This benefits learners new to coffee. It offers an insight into the world of specialty coffee and introduces the Bettr Barista Education Ecosystem.
How to Taste Specialty Coffee - Students will learn to understand coffee aromas, flavours and how to taste specialty coffee.
This workshop is recommended (but not mandatory), and you can select your workshop date when you book your Foundation course.
Course Fee: S$480 (including GST)
Weekday or Weekend class dates are available.
This course is SkillsFuture Credit Eligible (for Singaporeans).
The course fee includes 1 written and 1 practical test and both exams will be scheduled another day (1-hour time slots).
Learners may also opt out of doing the tests, in which case there will be no SCA certification awarded. However, these learners will receive a certificate of completion from Bettr Barista.
We require a minimum number of 3 learners to run each class. If the number of sign-ups does not meet this requirement, learners will be notified and have their class rescheduled to the next available date.
